リポカリンファミリーに属するβ-ラクトグロブリン（βLg）は、アミノ酸162個の低分子タンパク質で、分子量は∼18,400 Daです。このタンパク質の特徴は8鎖β-バレル（鎖A～H）で、三重aらせんが続き、さらに二量体化インターフェースを形成する最終β鎖（鎖I）が続きます。
乳牛の乳にはβ-ラクトグロブリン（BLG）タンパク質が含まれています。BLGは多くの遺伝的変異体で自然に生じ、最も広くみられるウシ変異体はBLG AおよびBLG Bです。
アプリケーション
牛乳由来のβ-ラクトグロブリンを使用して、成長した牛乳アレルギー患児のアレルゲン応答性CD4 + CD25 +制御性T細胞をテストしました。また、油-水および空気-水界面からのTween 20によるβ-ラクトグロブリンの競合的置換のテストにも使用されます。
その他情報
β-ラクトグロブリンAおよびβ-ラクトグロブリンBを含み、これらはクロマトグラフィ-で分離可能です。
