ストレプトアビジンは、ホモ四量体タンパク質です。ストレプトアビジンの1つの分子は、基本的に非可逆的な非共有結合性相互作用によりビオチンの4つの分子に結合します。ストレプトアビジンは、ビオチンに対して高い親和性を持ち、標識手段としてや、結合タンパク質が関与する研究で広く使用されています。
アプリケーション
Streptomyces avidinii 由来ストレプトアビジン−Cy3™ は、次の用途で使用されています：
- ビオチン化レクチンを検出するための二重免疫蛍光染色
- 免疫蛍光解析におけるインスリンとCペプチド染色用
- ビオサイチンで満たされている細胞の存在を検証するための二重免疫蛍光法
- 免疫組織化学および免疫細胞化学におけるビオチン化抗体との組み合わせ
- スペクトルの重なりによる従来のローダミンフィルター配置との併用
