アストレシンは、非選択的副腎皮質刺激ホルモン放出因子（コルチコトロピン放出因子、CRF）受容体アンタゴニストです。CRF誘導性副腎皮質刺激ホルモン（ACTH）の放出を遮断できる可能性があります。アストレシンは、ラットの不安や恐怖状態などの慢性的な社会的孤立の後発的影響を効果的に軽減します。
