L-スルフォラファンは抗腫瘍形成特性を有する第2相解毒酵素の強力な選択的誘導因子です。ブロッコリーなどのアブラナ科野植物に見られる有機硫黄化合物です。
スルフォラファンはアブラナ科の植物に含まれる抗癌、抗菌および抗糖尿病性の化合物です。3,4スルフォランは生体異物形質変換を引き起こすキノンレダクターゼおよびグルタチオンS-トランスフェラーゼのような解毒酵素の産生を誘発します。スルフォラファンはさらに、腫瘍サプレッサータンパク質の転写を増大させ、ヒストンデアセチラーゼを阻害します。スルフォラファンは、iNOS、COX-2、IL-1βおよびTNF-αのLPS介在型発現を抑制することによって炎症性反応を調節します。3,5
