グリシルグルタミンは、L-グルタミンのジペプチドです。Gly-Gln ジペプチドは、優れた溶解性と熱安定性を示します。さらに、この化合物は静脈内注入後、急速にグルタミンとグリシンに加水分解されます。グリシンは、細胞膜の透過性を防ぐことで、心筋細胞を虚血性損傷から保護することができます。さらに、グリシルグルタミンのジペプチドを補給することで、心筋細胞のエネルギー代謝が促進され、ATP とグルタチオンの合成が増加するため、ラットの心筋保存に有利であることが証明されています。
グリシルグルタミン（gly-gln）は、細胞培養でグルタミンの代替として使用されるジペプチドです。グルタミンの代替としてこのジペプチドを使用するとより高い細胞収量が得られ、gly-glnは基質の利用および代謝に影響します。ペプチダーゼ親和性が低いため本ジペプチド濃度は高値を維持し、細胞増殖が亢進します。
アプリケーション
グリシン-グルタミン酸一水和物は、以下の用途で使用されています：
- ダルベッコ′改変イーグル培地（DMEM）に添加して、ウマの胚を培養するため
- DMEM/F-12 に添加して、分割したウマの胚を培養するため
- ヒト卵管液（HTF）培地で、市販の胚培養培地において、インキュベーション中および保存中のアンモニウム蓄積を研究するため
