General description

TWEEN® 20, also known as polysorbate 20, is a non-ionic detergent. It reduces the surface tension in solutions and thereby aids in uniform spreading of reagents. Tween 20 has a gentle action on cell lipids, preserves the integrity of cell surface antigens and aids in the staining of intracellular proteins.

Application

TWEEN 20 has been used as a surfactant and has also been used for enzyme extraction.
