Biochem/physiol Actions

L-Arginine is a conditionally essential amino acid, that play a vital role in the production of nitric oxide. It acts as a precursor for the synthesis of polyamines, agmatine and urea. L-Arginine is usually essential in children and non-essential in adults.
Substrate of nitric oxide synthase, which is converted to citrulline and nitric oxide (NO). Induces insulin release by a nitric oxide-dependent mechanism.
