IL-15 plays a crucial role in the homeostatic modulation of the cluster of differentiation 8 (CD8) memory T cells. IL-15 upregulates the expression of telomerase and aids in enhancing the proliferative capacity of NK, NKT-like, and CD8 T Cells. Mutation in the IL-15 gene results in psoriasis vulgaris.
