テトラメチルアンモニウムフルオリドはフッ化スルフリルと組み合わせてアリールフェノールをフッ化アリルに変換するために用いられることがあります。アミノシランと反応しin situでオニウムアミド塩基を生成します。オニウムアミド塩基はヘテロアレーンを脱プロトン化することができます。
ハロゲン交換に便利。
