Descrizione generale

Lysophosphatidic acid (1- or 2-acyl-lysophosphatidic acid/LPA), a bioactive phospholipid is seen at a low level in plasma (~100 nM). It is usually formed during the synthesis of phospholipid of cell membranes. It is produced by various cells like, activated platelets, epithelial cells, leukocytes, neuronal cells and tumor cells.

Applicazioni

17:0 Lyso PA is suitable to use as an internal standard:
  • for mass spectrometric determination of lysophosphatidic acid molecular species in mouse peritoneal macrophages
  • in the quantification of the lipid species released from extended synaptotagmin 2 (E-SYT2) expressed in mammalian cells by liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS)
  • for the extraction of lipids from brain homogenate
  • to extract lipids from the stomach washing solution for the determination of lysophosphatidic acid in a mouse stomach fluid

Azioni biochim/fisiol

Lysophosphatidic acid (1- or 2-acyl-lysophosphatidic acid/LPA) modulates cell motility, proliferation, invasion, survival and production of growth factors via G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR).
