Descrição geral

Monoclonal Anti-Myocardin (mouse IgG2b isotype) is derived from the hybridoma MCR54 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a fragment of human myocardin. Myocardin (MYOCD) is a transcriptional coactivator.
Myocardin (MYOCD) is expressed in the muscles and cardiomyocytes. It is a co-transcriptional factor.

Aplicação

Monoclonal Anti-Myocardin antibody produced in mouse has been used in western blot analysisimmunofluorescence.

Ações bioquímicas/fisiológicas

Myocardin (MYOCD) takes part in the differentiation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC). It is a co-factor of serum response factor (SRF) and regulates the activation of those genes which are dependent on SRF. MYOCD forms a complex with SRF on DNA.
Myocardin is a smooth and cardiac muscle-specific transcriptional coactivator of serum response factor (SRF). It regulates the expression of a set of cardiac and smooth muscle-specific genes. Myocardin was implicated in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, Alzheimer′s disease, and malignant transformation.
