Anwendung

Gallic acid has been used as a reference standard in the high performance liquid chromatography coupled triple quadrupole mass spectrometric (HPLC/QqQ MS) analysis of gallic acid in rat medicated plural serum containing Guizhi Fuling Wan, a chinese herbal formula used for the treatment of ovarian cancer.

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

Gallussäure ist eine wasserlösliche Phenolsäure, die in Trauben und in den Blättern vieler Pflanzen vorkommt. Gallussäureester, wie Tannine, Catechin-gallate und aliphatische Gallate sind in vitro starke Antioxidantien. Aber auch Gallussäure selbst scheint in vitro antioxidative, antikanzeroge und anti-angiogene Aktivität zu haben.
