General description

The IgG class antibodies contain two subclasses, IgG1 and IgG2, which have antigenic differences in the Fc portion of the heavy chains. Monoclonal Anti-Bovine IgG2 (mouse IgG1 isotype) is derived from the hybridoma produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes of an immunized mouse.

Immunogen

Purified bovine IgG

Application

Monoclonal Anti-Bovine IgG2 antibody has been used in:
  • western blot
  • enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)
  • dot blot assay

Biochem/physiol Actions

Bovine IgGs are glycoprotein antibodies that regulate immune responses in herds. These antibodies inhibit TLR5 activation upon immunization with native H7 flagellin. Bovine IgG levels can be used for the detection of Johne′s disease and milk adulteration.

Systemic immunization of cattle with H7 flagellin results in induction of both H7-specific IgA and IgG antibodies but only partially protects against subsequent colonization with Escherichia coli O157:H7. Recent studies indicate that anti-flagellin antibodies directed against TLR5 binding domains located
