Application

APTS is a fluorescence reagent that has been demonstrated to have a high level of detection sensitivity for sugars The LOD for APTS-derivatized sugars has been shown to be 0.4 nM when using a 488 nm argon-ion laser. The multi-anionic nature of APTS makes it ideal for the studies of carbohydrate molecules and small hormone molecules by high resolution capillary electrophoresis.
Fluorescent label for saccharides and glycoproteins.

Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS), has been used for structure characterization of 1-aminopyrene-3,6,8-trisulfonate (APTS)-derivatized oligosaccharides previously separated by capillary electrophoresis (CE). The resolved components were first isolated by employing an automated high-resolution fraction collector. Using on-probe sample...

Structural modifications of proteins are essential to living cells. When aberrantly regulated they are often the basis of disease. Glycans are responsible for much of the structural variation in biologic systems, and their representation on cell surfaces is commonly called the “glycome.”
