General description

The GranuCult® prime OF (Oxidative/Fermentative) medium is designed for the confirmation and identification of gram-negative bacteria based on oxidative or fermentative metabolism of carbohydrates. The medium is supplemented with glucose for the confirmation of Enterobacteriaceae present in the test samples. The pH indicator, bromothymol blue indicates the degradation of the carbohydrate by a color change reaction (blue to yellow). The reaction can take place either aerobically or anaerobically.

Application

The GranuCult® prime OF (Oxidative/Fermentative) medium is used to grow bacteria which can metabolize carbohydrates. The medium can also promote growth of all aerobic, anerobic and facultative aerobic bacteria.

Footnote

We offer two media types: the superior granulated GranuCult® and the cost-efficient powdered NutriSelect® culture media, depending on your needs.
The designations basic, plus, or prime are added to indicate the quality control level, from basic quality control to standard QC plus to prime for full regulatory compliance.
