General description

11-Nor-Δ9-THC-9-carboxylic acid glucuronide is the phase II metabolite of the phytocannabinoid ∆9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). This certified Snap-N-Spike® reference solution is suitable for numerous GC/MS or LC/MS applications from pharmaceutical testing and research to clinical toxicology or forensic analysis. This Certified Reference Material provides added value in allowing calibration of THC acid glucuronide by LC-MS/MS methods without the need for an added hydrolysis step.

Application

The Certified Spiking Solution® is suitable for (+)-11-Nor-Δ9-THC-9-carboxylic acid glucuronide testing by HPLC, GC/MS, or LC-MS/MS methods in forensic analysis, clinical toxicology, urine drug testing, and Cannabis potency or impurity profiling testing applications. The Certified Reference Material (CRM) in solution can also be used as follows:
  • Development of an automated sample preparation method based on solid phase extraction (SPE) to determine ∆9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and its three primary metabolites in a variety of matrices, such as serum, saliva, and urine using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS)
  • Liquid chromatographic-tandem mass spectrometric (LC-MS/MS) determination of cannabinoids and their metabolites in whole blood samples
  • Detection and quantification of 11-Nor-∆9-tetrahydrocannabinol-9-carboxylic acid glucuronide (THC-COOH-glu) in hair samples by ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS)
  • Simultaneous residue analysis of phytocannabinoids, their metabolites, and amphetamine-type stimulants (ATS) in 11 hair samples obtained from drug users by liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS)
  • Determination of measurement uncertainty in the quantitative analysis of 11-nor-∆9-tetrahydrocannabinol-9-carboxylic acid (THC-COOH) and its glucuronide analogue (THC-COOH-glu) from urine samples by using LC-MS/MS

Features and Benefits

  • Fully characterized under ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034 accreditation
  • Accompanied with a comprehensive Certificate of Analysis (CoA) with data on stability, homogeneity, accuracy of concentration, uncertainty, and traceability
  • Rigorously tested through real-time stability studies to ensure accuracy and shelf life
  • Gravimetrically prepared using qualified precision balances to ensure minimal uncertainty
  • Flame sealed under argon into ampoules for long-term shelf life
  • Offered in a convenient, DEA-exempt format to improve laboratory efficiency

Protocols

To optimize hydrolysis using β-glucuronidase, factors such as incubation time, temperature, hydrolysis pH, enzyme source, and enzyme concentration must be evaluated for each glucuronide metabolite to be analyzed.

Our team of scientists has experience in all areas of research including Life Science, Material Science, Chemical Synthesis, Chromatography, Analytical and many others.
