General description

We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. This product has been enhanced for energy efficiency. Find details here.

Application

Sodium hydride (dry) (NaH) can be used for a variety of applications such as:
  • preparation of sodium aluminum hydride (NaAlH4), which can be used as a hydrogen storage material
  • a base and a reducing agent for the deprotonation of alcohols, phenols, amides, ketones, and different functional groups
  • a hydride donor that can be used in various reactions such as nitriles, amides, and imines
  • for potential usage in thermal energy storage

Direct intercalation into C60 results in the superconducting material (NaH)4C60.

Our research impacts on the hydrogen energy economy through the development of “smart” nanofilms for the protection of metal hydrides against air and moisture, while permitting release of hydrogen gas through these semi permeable nanofilms.

Our team of scientists has experience in all areas of research including Life Science, Material Science, Chemical Synthesis, Chromatography, Analytical and many others.
