General description

Barium chloride (BaCl2) is a water soluble ionic compound that is hygroscopic in nature. It can be found naturally as witherite and can be prepared from barium hydroxide or barium carbonate.

Application

BaCl2 is an important compound that is used in a variety of industrial and laboratory based applications. Its other applications include testing of sulfate ions, pigmet synthesis and pharmaceuticals.
