ROCK1是一种普遍表达的丝氨酸/苏氨酸激酶，是小GTPase RhoA的下游靶标。ROCK1参与多种细胞功能，包括平滑肌收缩，肌动蛋白细胞骨架组织，细胞粘附和运动以及基因表达。ROCK1有助于心脏纤维化的发育和心肌细胞中纤维化细胞因子的诱导，以响应病理刺激。ROCK1基因敲除小鼠表现出减少的血管周围和间质纤维化，这与多种细胞外基质（ECM）蛋白和纤维化细胞因子的表达减少有关。
