應用

在星形胶质细胞和神经胶质细胞的谷氨酸摄取测试中，二氢红藻氨酸（dihydrokainic acid）已被用作谷氨酸转运蛋白（GLT-1）抑制剂。它可以用作外侧缰核（Lateral habenula，LHb）中的GLT-1抑制剂。

生化／生理作用

二氢海藻酸是GLT-1谷氨酸转运蛋白的选择性抑制剂。在较高浓度下，二氢海藻酸酯是AMPA /海藻酸酯谷氨酸受体的弱抑制剂。
二氢红藻氨酸会促进神经元细胞死亡。它可调节焦虑和抑郁行为。
二氢红藻氨酸是一种选择性 GLT-1 谷氨酸转运体抑制剂；高浓度 AMPA/红藻氨酸谷氨酸受体的弱抑制剂。
