PromoCell Melanocyte Growth Medium is a PMA (Phorbol Myristate Acetate)-containing Medium and has been developed for the in vitro cultivation of juvenile melanocytes. While the supplements of the Melanocyte Growth Medium are serum-free, the Basal Medium is manufactured with 0.2% serum. Since PMA is a tumor promoting mitogen, it may interfere with some experimental approaches. In these cases, we recommend using the PMA-free Melanocyte Growth Medium M2 (C-24300).
