MDCK II - Madin-Darby canine kidney- is a subclone derived from the heterogenous The canine MDR1 (cP-gp) efflux transporter gene has been effectively disrupted in both alleles. There is no expression of the cP-gp. Human BCRP and Human OATP2B1 has been transfected into the MDCKII cell line. Validation studies have shown BCRP dependent efflux of estrone-3 sulfate (requires OATP2B1) and teriflunomide (does not require OATP2B1).
