生物化学的／生理学的作用

Biochanin Aはムラサキツメクサ(Trifolium pratense)に含まれるイソフラボン型の植物エストロゲンで、エストロゲン受容体(ER)-βの選択的アゴニストであるため、乳がんに対する化学予防薬としての効果をもつ可能性があります。ER-αに対する活性は低く、基本的に子宮肥大作用はありません。Biochanin Aはアリ-ル炭化水素受容体(AhR)のリガンドでもあります。動脈抵抗を減少させて微小循環を促進するというBiochanin Aの効果は、カリウムチャンネルやカルシウムチャンネルへの作用を介して起こるものと考えられます。
