Recombinant fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 1 and 287 of BMP4 according to NP_001193

Aplicação

Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: ICC/IF: 1:100-1:1000, IHC-P: 1:100-1:1000, WB: 1:500-1:3000. Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the end user.

Ações bioquímicas/fisiológicas

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the bone morphogenetic protein family which is part of the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily. The superfamily includes large families of growth and differentiation factors. Bone morphogenetic proteins were originally identified by an ability of demineralized bone extract to induce endochondral osteogenesis in vivo in an extraskeletal site. This particular family member plays an important role in the onset of endochondral bone formation in humans, and a reduction in expression has been associated with a variety of bone diseases, including the heritable disorder Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva. Alternative splicing in the 5′ untranslated region of this gene has been described and three variants are described, all encoding an identical protein. [provided by RefSeq]

The male's ability to reproduce is completely dependent on Sertoli cells. However, the mechanisms governing the functional integrity of Sertoli cells have remained largely unexplored. Here, we demonstrate that deletion of Shp2 in Sertoli cells results in infertility in mice.

Monocytes and macrophages, together with vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs), play key roles at all stages of atherogenesis. There is also growing evidence that BMP signaling is involved in vascular diseases, including atherosclerosis. Here we evaluate the role played by

Presence of the pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) signalling has been proved in various peripheral tissues. PACAP can activate protein kinase A (PKA) signalling via binding to pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide type I receptor (PAC1), vasoactive intestinal polypeptide receptor (VPAC)
