Description

Analysis Note

Benzoyl peroxide is used as an acne treatment, for bleaching flour, hair and teeth, for cross-linking polyester resins, and for many other purposes. Benzoyl peroxide is split into benzoic acid and oxygen when it contacts the skin breaking down the keartin in the outermost layer, as well as aiding in the cleaning of sebum and cellular debris from pores. This helps to lower bacterial (antibacterial effect) populations in the pores on the skin. It also has a mild drying effect, which allows excess oils and dirt to be easily washed away from the skin.
