General description
Cyanobacteria BG-11 Freshwater Solution is a 50X chemstock used to prepare cyanobacteria BG-11 media for culturing cyanobacteria, such as Synechocystis 6803, Nostoc sp. PCC 9104, and Nostoc sp. PCC 9025.
Application
Cyanobacteria BG-11 Freshwater Solution has been used:
- to culture Synechococcus sp.
- for culturing Chlorella minutissima
- as a diluting agent to measure the growth rate at different temperatures in Microcystis aeruginosa
Formula variant
With major salts and trace metals.
Reconstitution
When used for marine species add 10g/L sodium chloride and 1μg/L vitamin B12.
Use at 20ml/L.
