General description

Angiopoietin 2 is an endothelial cell-specific protein and has a pivotal role in mature blood vessel formation, endothelial cell proliferation and embryogenic angiogenesis. Angiopoietin 2 produced by endothelial cells of interior tumor vessels, stimulates vessel regression and disassociation from surrounding tumor cells. Anti-angiopoietin-2 antibody can be used in western blotting. Goat anti-angiopoietin-2 antibody reacts specifically with recombinant human angiopoietin-2. The product may also show 25% (approx.) cross-reactivity for recombinant human angiopoietin-1.

Immunogen

purified recombinant human angiopoietin-2 expressed in mouse NSO cells.

Application

Anti-angiopoietin-2 antibody can be used in immunohistochemistry for detecting humanangiopoietin-2 using paraffin-embedded human tissue sections. It can also be used in ELISA.
Goat anti-angiopoietin-2 antibody is also suitable for use in western blot assays at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL

Physical form

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline (pH 7.4) with 5% trehalose
