Potassium chlorate (KClO₃) is widely used in the chemical industry as an oxidizing agent. KCIO₃ is used in the conversion of alcohols to corresponding aldehyde or ketone derivatives.

Application

Potassium chlorate is used:

• In the sequential extraction (SEP) of selenium to analyze its isotopic composition from various Se pools.
• In the preparation of graphite oxide (GO).
