General description

Photooxidation UV lamp is a replacement lamp for use with Milli-Q® systems. Through its photooxidative effect, the lamp degrades organic molecules into inorganic species. The combination of dual wavelengths generates hydroxyl radicals (OH.), a key species in the oxidation process. Organic contaminants are oxidized to charged organic acids and CO2, which combines with water to generate carbonate and bicarbonate ions. These newly formed ions are retained by mixed ion exchange resins down-stream from the UV lamp. This photooxidation UV lamp is for Milli-Q® Advantage A10 / Direct / Element / Integral / Reference water purification systems.

Application

Water treated by this UV lamp is low in organic contaminants and suitable for all applications sensitive to organics (HPLC, etc.)

Features and Benefits

  • 185 nm and 254 nm mercury UV lamp
  • Photooxidation technology
