Gene Information

human ... RAC1(5879)

General description

Non-radioactive Rac1 Activation Assay Kit can be used to precipitate Ras-related C3 botulinum toxin substrate 1 (Rac1)-GTP from cell lysates and detected by a Rac1 specific monoclonal antibody. Rac1 belongs to the Ras superfamily of small guanosine triphosphatases (GTPases). It is expressed in two major forms such as an inactive GDP-bound form and an active GTP-bound form. Rac1 is involved in influencing several physiological conditions by interacting with effectors that activate several signaling cascades. The RAC1 gene is located on the human chromosome at 7p22.1.

Application

Rac1 Activation Assay Kit has been used in the detection of active Ras-related C3 botulinum toxin substrate 1 (Rac1) in brain homogenates of mice and humans by immunoblotting.

Components

Anti-Rac1, clone 23A8 (Cat.# 05-389)

Mg2+ Lysis/Wash Buffer, 5X (Cat.# 20-168)

100X GTPγS, 10mM (Cat.# 20-176)

100X GDP, 100mM (Cat.# 20-177)

Rac/cdc42 Assay Reagent (PAK1 PBD, agarose) (Cat.# 14-325)

Quality

Routinely evaluated by precipitating Rac-GTP from 3T3 cell lysates that had been loaded with GTPγS. The precipitated Rac-GTP was detected by immunoblot analysis using anti-Rac.
