General description

Spinophilin/neurabin II is an actin-associated scaffolding protein enriched in the dendritic spines of neurons.

Specificity

Other species not known.
Specific for spinophilin, Mr 120 kDa. Also recognizes a band which is suspected to be a cleavage product of spinophilin, Mr 95 kDa.

Immunogen

GST fusion protein corresponding to residues 286-390 of rat brain spinophilin/neurabin-II.

Application

Anti-Spinophilin/Neurabin-II Antibody is an antibody against Spinophilin/Neurabin-II for use in IC, IP & WB.
Immunoprecipitation:
4 μg of a previous lot immunoprecipitated Spinophilin/Neurabin-II from 500 μg of rat brain microsomal preparation (Catalog # 12-144).

Quality

Routinely evaluated by Western Blot on a rat brain microsomal preparation.

Western Blot Analysis:
0.25-1 μg/mL of this lot detected Spinophilin/Neurabin-II in 20 μg of a rat brain microsomal preparation (Catalog # 12-144).

Target description

120 kDa

Physical form

Format: Purified
Protein G Purified
Purified rabbit polyclonal IgG in buffer containing 70% storage buffer (0.014 M phosphate buffer, pH 7.6, 0.175 M NaCl, 0.07% sodium azide) and 30% glycerol. Store at -20°C.

Storage and Stability

Stable for 1 year at -20ºC from date of receipt.

Handling Recommendations:
Upon receipt, and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerolcontaining solutions to become frozen during storage.
