General description

FREY liquid Medium is designed for qualitative detection of avian mycoplasmas. The medium is supplemented with NAD (Nucleotide Adenine Dinucleotide) to allow the growth of M. synoviae. Color change of the medium to yellow or purple indicates the growth of mycoplasmas, due to Phenol Red in the medium. Penicillin inhibits the growth of accompanying bacterial flora.

Application

FREY Broth is recommended for the detection of avian mycoplasmas in pharmaceutical products, especially in bulk vaccines, cell banks, and virus cultures.

Features and Benefits

  • Ready-to-use convenience as no further preparation steps are required.
  • Suitable for pharmaceutical products such as Biopharmaceuticals, Vaccines, Cell cultures, and Virus cultures.
  • Our ready-to-use media provide the highest level of quality and testing confidence. They have been formulated and tested to meet the pharmacopeia requirements. Sterility testing media and rinse solutions are manufactured in an ISO 9001, environmentally controlled production center. Each lot undergoes a stringent quality control (QC) procedure, including pH, sterility, and growth promotion tests. Our manufacturing approach ensures the highest level of clarity for our media and rinsing fluids, thus improving accuracy and reducing the risk of incorrect interpretation and false results.

Analysis Note

The appearance of the medium is clear and red and color change reaction from red to yellow determines the presence of mycoplasma.
