General description

Dendrimers are symmetrically branched polymer structures and monodispersed macromolecules. They possess uniform size, water solubiltity, and modifiable surface functionality. Cross linking with polyethylene glycol results in very high water content.

Application

1. Dendritic nanodevices for therapeutic applications.
2. Surface modified for targeting, imaging and drug delivery
3. Antibody-dendrimer conjugate
4. Anti viral drugs
5. Tissue repair scaffolds

Dendrimers are synthetic, highly branched, mono-disperse macromolecules of nanometer dimensions. Started in the mid-1980s, the research investigations into the synthetic methodology, physical and chemical properties of these macromolecules are increasing exponentially with growing interest in this field.
