It is also known as FAK2 (focal adhesion kinase 2), RAFTK (related adhesion focal tyrosine kinase) and CAKB (cell adhesion kinase beta). Its expression is confined to the endothelium, central nervous system and hematopoietic lineages. It is located on human chromosome 8p21.1.
