Spleen tyrosine kinase (SYK) is a member of the non-receptor tyrosine kinase family. It is usually expressed in epithelial breast tissues and hematopoietic cells. The gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 9q22.

The protein helps to phosphorylate the α-tubulin subunits of microtubules. SYK aids in the coupling of receptors for antigen-antibody complexes. It also modulates cell proliferation and differentiation.
