アミフォスチンは、放射線損傷を軽減し腎臓での放射線吸収線量を減少させることにより、ソマトスタチン類縁体を用いたPRRT時の腎臓を保護します。アミフォスチンは、放射線照射がマウス下顎の骨ミネラル化を退行させる作用を修正します。

生物化学的／生理学的作用

放射線防護剤です。腫瘍に対する放射線治療の損傷作用から正常組織を選択的に保護します。この選択性は、正常組織による優先的な取り込みと、その後2-(3-アミノプロピル)アミノエタンチオ-ルへと代謝活性化されることによります。
