結核菌の治療のための抗生物質は、ミコール酸合成を阻害します。肝臓のN-アセチルトランスフェラーゼ（NAT）及びシトクロムP450 2E1（CYP2E1）により代謝されて、肝毒素を形成します。 CYP2E1の発現を選択的に誘導します。 CYP2C19及びCYP3A4の活性を可逆的に阻害し、臨床使用濃度でCYP1A2、CYP2A6、CYP2C19及びCYP3A4を機構的に不活性化します。
