The sponge stick is blue and made of plastic equipped with release clamps. It comes in an easy-to-open blue pre-cut sampling bag along with a blank area for writing sample information. The bag is supplied with an adhesive closure label for sample protection. Buffered Peptone water with a 10 % neutralizing agent, calibrated to a dose of 10 mL is used as a diluent.
