General description

Tri(ethylene glycol) (N-hydroxyethoxy)ethyl methacrylamide is a pH sensitive crosslinker and monomer containing an acetal group. The acetal group of the monomer is degraded upon acidic conditions and yields neutral degradation product. This monomer and crosslinker can be used in the synthesis of polyacetals which can be used in a variety of applications due to their instrinsically biodegradable properties. Additionally, they can exhibit (lower critical solution temperature) LCST behavior where they lose solubility upon heating.

Application

  • Targeted drug delivery application
  • Controlled or sustained drug delivery
  • As a pH clevable crosslinker
  • Polyacetal polymer synthesis
  • Stimuli responsive hydrogels

Features and Benefits

  • Unique degradation mechanism -Degrades in acidic condition and produces neutral degradation products
  • Water soluble
  • Biodegradable and biocompatible
