應用

睾酮3-(O-羧甲基)肟已用于制备辣根过氧化物酶(HRP)标记的睾酮,以通过酶免疫测定法测量血浆睾酮浓度。
睾酮3-(O-羧甲基)肟已用于电鱼Apteronotus中性二态性的激素分析。该睾酮衍生物也已用于开发用于检测水样中睾酮的环境生物传感器

生化/生理作用

雄激素在胚胎发生和青春期指导雄性表型的发展。睾酮是由睾丸分泌的雄激素。该激素在靶组织中转化为二氢睾酮,在那里它可以介导几种生物学功能。
雄激素指导男性生殖系统和第二性征的发育。睾酮是由睾丸分泌的雄激素。该激素在靶组织中被5α还原酶转化为二氢睾酮(DHT)。DHT和睾酮都需要雄激素受体(一种配体依赖性核转录因子)来介导其生物学功能。
