一般說明

表皮生长因子(EGF)是小的促有丝分裂多肽(∼6 kDa),存在于许多哺乳动物物种中,分布在许多组织和体液中。四种ErbB (HER) 家族受体酪氨酸激酶(包括EGFR/ErbB1、ErbB2、 ErbB3和 ErbB4)介导针对EGF家族成员的反应。人类和小鼠的EGF非常相似,但是它们的物理和化学性质并不相同。在构成两种多肽中每一种多肽的53个氨基酸残基中,有37个是两种分子共有的,并且在相同的相对位置上形成三个二硫键。

應用

来自小鼠的表皮生长因子已用作基础(N2B27)培养基补充剂,用于培养分化的小鼠胚胎干(E14)细胞。

生化/生理作用

EGF(表皮生长因子)可参与细胞增殖、分化和存活。 此外,它还可影响各种生物活动,如血管生成、抑制胃酸分泌、调节多种激素的合成、细胞外基质蛋白质的合成和转换、骨组织钙释放(从而促进骨吸收)、成纤维细胞和上皮细胞的化学趋化作用、单独或与其他细胞因子组合介导伤口愈合过程。 EGF对于多种细胞类型具有促有丝分裂作用,包括成纤维细胞、上皮细胞、内皮细胞、软骨细胞、以及SV40-3T3细胞。
