生化/生理作用

(−)-表没食子儿茶素没食子酸酯(EGCG)结构中含有8个羟基(OH),因而决定了它的高抗氧化特性。除了可作为一种有效的游离氧自由基清除剂之外,它还可用作优良的螯合剂和重要转录因子的调节剂,主要是核因子-κβ(NF-kβ)。EGCG已被证明是一种有效的抗肥胖剂,可增强能量消耗和脂肪氧化及减轻人食欲。EGCG也可在缺血和脊髓损伤的初始阶段发挥抗炎和神经保护作用。它可减少小窝蛋白-1表达,维持血脑屏障的完整性和下调促炎细胞因子水平。
