胰岛因子1(ISL-1)是一种转录因子,在朗格汉斯胰岛的胚胎发生中发挥重要作用。它在肾上腺髓质和背根神经节的神经元亚群、视网膜内核和神经节细胞层、松果体和大脑某些区域中表达。在小鼠胚胎中,缺乏这种基因就无法进行神经管运动神经元的分化。最近,它被确定为心脏祖细胞谱系的标志物,该谱系能够分化为所有3种主要心脏细胞类型:心肌细胞、平滑肌和内皮细胞谱系。
