Benzonase® 核酸酶是一种用基因工程方法从粘质沙雷氏菌获得的核酸内切酶它降解所有形式的 DNA 和 RNA（单链、双链、线性和环状），而没有蛋白水解活性。它能够在较大范围的条件下工作，并且具有极高的比活度。该酶将核酸完全消化为长度为 2 至 5 个碱基（低于杂交极限）的 5′-一磷酸酯化的寡核苷酸，非常适合从重组蛋白中去除核酸，从而符合 FDA 关于核酸污染的指南。Benzonase 迅速水解核酸的能力使该酶成为降低粘度、减少加工时间并提高蛋白质产量的绝佳选择。例如，该酶与 BugBuster 和 PopCulture 蛋白提取试剂兼容，因此可以与这些试剂一起添加，以消除大肠杆菌提取物中的粘度并去除核酸。
