Anwendung

Capsaicin USP reference standard for use in specified quality tests and assays.

Also used to prepare standard solutions for the assay, identification, composition and strength analysis according to the given below monographs of United States Pharmacopeia (USP):
  • Capsaicin
  • Capsicum Oleoresin
  • Capsicum
  • Ginger Tincture

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

Prototyp Vanilloid-Rezeptor-Agonist; Neurotoxin.
Prototyp Vanilloid-Rezeptoragonist; Neurotoxin; aktiviert sensorische Neuronen, was zu unmyelierten C-Fasern führt, von denen viele Substanz P enthalten. Topische Applikation desensibilisiert die sensorischen Nervenendigungen, was eine paradoxe antinozizeptive Wirkung ergibt; systemische Verabreichung kann neurotoxisch auf Capsaicin-sensitive Zellen wirken, insbesondere bei neugeborenen Tieren. Aktiver Bestandteil von Chilischoten.
