General description

HybriScan I kits are intended for the identification and result confirmation of microorganisms using rRNA as the detection target. Several customers also use it to detect microorganisms in food, beverage and water samples. The principle is based on in situ sandwich hybridization with two specific probes. As the rRNA of dead cells is degraded in the presence of RNase, only living cells are detected. Each cell has several thousand rRNA copies, so neither PCR nor a polymerase is needed for this technology, which means that this molecular biology test is not inhibited by the sample matrix.

Information about lactobacilli, rod-shaped, Gram-positive, fermentative, facultative anaerobic or microaerophilic organotrophs. The lactobacillus organtroph belongs to the lactic acid bacteria group.

Ensuring excellent product quality is essential for microbiological quality control in breweries. Our HybriScan™ assays provide rapid and accurate molecular detection of beer spoilage microorganisms at a faster rate as compared to conventional methods.

Detect and quantify bacteria that have beneficial health effects. Bifidobacteria-selective media (BSM) is available as an agar or a broth and can be used as a standard for quality control. We also offer an rRNA-based molecular biology method to detect Lactobacillus.

Molecular biology-based methods, like PCR, can be used for lactobacilli detection. However, they are often quite expensive. We provide a revolutionary molecular biology method that is rapid, easy, and cost-effective.
