General description

Immunogen: GST (Glutathione S-transferase) derived from the pGEX expression vector and linked to KLH.

Specificity: Recognizes GST-fusion proteins.
Glutathione S transferases (GSTs) are a family of enzymes that play an important role in detoxification by catalyzing the conjugation of many hydrophobic and electrophilic compounds with reduced glutathione. Based on their biochemical, immunological, and structural properties, the soluble human GSTs are categorized into 4 main classes: alpha, mu, pi, and theta. The amino acid sequence GST is highly conserved in most organisms, including mammals.

Specificity

Recognizes GST-fusion proteins.

Immunogen

Quality

Routinely evaluated by western blot Analysis on recombinant GST protein.

Western Blot Analysis:
1:500-1:1000 dilution of this lot detected recombinant GST protein.

Physical form

Protein G Purified
Purified mouse monoclonal IgG in buffer containing (HRP) in 70% storage buffer PBS with 0.05% Kathon® and 30% glycerol. Liquid at -20°C.

Storage and Stability

Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon first thaw, and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variabillity in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.

Analysis Note

Control
Cells expressing the GST-tag.

Other Notes

Concentration: Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.
