General description
Iridium(IV) chloride hydrate is a black crystallinesolid used as a precursor to synthesize Ir-based catalysts and nanoparticles.
Application
Iridium(IV) chloride hydrate can be used:
- To fabricate an Ir-decorated graphene electrode for vanadium redox flow batteries.
- As a precursor to synthesize iridium oxide nanoparticles. These nanoparticles can act as a stable catalyst for the hydrogenation of a series of nitrogen heterocycles.
- To prepare Ir single atom catalyst (Ir1–Ni(OH)2) for oxygen evolution reaction.
