General description

Norgen Biotek′s Plant/Fungi DNA Isolation Kit provides a rapid method for the isolation and purification of total DNA from a wide range of plant and filamentous fungal species. Total DNA, including genomic DNA, mitochondrial DNA and chloroplast DNA can be purified from fresh or frozen plant tissues, plant cells or filamentous fungi samples using this kit.

Application

Norgen′s Plant/Fungi DNA Isolation Kit purifies high quality total DNA that can be used in a number of downstream applications, including:
  • qPCR
  • Southern blotting
  • SNP analysis
  • Sequencing
Plant/Fungi DNA Isolation Kit has been used for rapid isolation of total DNA from plants and fungi.

Articles

The availability of simple methods for purification of DNA and RNA has greatly facilitated the analysis and characterization of the genome and gene expression. There is a demand to isolate DNA and RNA rapidly and conveniently from a variety of cellular sources, including cells and tissues from mammalian, plant and bacterial cultures.

Protocols

The Plant RNA/DNA Purification Kit provides a rapid method for the isolation and purification of total RNA and DNA simultaneously from a single sample of plants.

An introduction to both Northern and Southern blotting, popular methods for the transfer of macromolecules to membranous support. This article also offers a Southern blot protocol and a northern blot protocol.
