该基因编码一种多功能蛋白，该蛋白结合泛素并调节核因子κB（NF-kB）信号通路的激活。该蛋白作为支架/接头蛋白与TNF受体相关因子6协同作用，介导NF-κB对上游信号的激活。已经针对该基因鉴定了编码相同或不同同工型的可变剪接的转录物变体。在散发性和家族性佩吉特骨病患者中发现了该基因的突变。（由RefSeq提供）
